8 TIPS TO KEEP YOUR CAR IN MINT CONDITION

Updated: Jan 25, 2021

Keeping your car in top-notch condition is easier said than done. You need to get it serviced regularly for proper maintenance – you will be surprised to know that many car owners forget to do so, and end up jeopardizing their investment and fail to maximize resale value when they decide to trade it in for a newer model.

Although regular servicing is likely to keep your vehicle in best running order, there are several things you can do to add another layer of protection to your car’s safety and reliability. We have created a checklist for your convenience but first check out our video about our services and how we could help you keep your cars in tip top condition.

  1. The paintwork should be flawless and top-notch. If there are chips, dents, or scratches, you need to get it fixed immediately.

  2. Check the interior of the car thoroughly for any deterioration in the upholstery or leatherwork. Did you find tears? Is there loose stitching? Whatever the problem, get it seen to right away.

  3. Inspect front and rear bumper bars for scratches, dents, nicks and any signs of rust or corrosion. Look underneath the car for any rust spots. Get it treated right away if you find anything.

  4. Tires need to be rotated once every 6000 miles. On an average, it means the swap needs to happen twice a year. Rotating your tires extends shelf life and improves performance on the road. They should be properly inflated, undamaged and replaced when worn.

  5. If you notice signs like leaking hoses, rust spots or oil leaks in the engine bay, it means quick servicing is a must. It is advisable to go for drive without the radio or any sort of music on, so you can hear if there are any peculiar noises coming from the engine.

  6. Test the brakes and listen for weird scraping noises. Make sure the vehicle comes to a stop in a straight line after the brakes are applied.

  7. Leaving your car out for long hours in the sun is a seriously bad idea for its finish and interiors. It could lead to loss of luster in your paint, fading of seats, etc. Always park in a garage and if that isn’t possible, buy a quality car cover to keep your vehicle safe from the sun.

  8. Check the oil by wiping it from the dipstick between your fingers, rub your fingers gently together and if you feel graininess this could be an early sign of engine wear.
